Wisdom, what is its value?
To know the path of the planets
To know the way of the winds
Or about the course of the rivers.
Is this Wisdom?

I don't know how it helps
To know the four seasons
To know the phases of the Moon
Or to recognize the tides.
Is this Wisdom?

I don't know what use it is
To know about leap years
To know about meridians
Or the strict count of the calendar.
Is this Wisdom?

I wish, Oh this, I wish
To know of my end: the day and the hour
To know when at the end I will depart
Leaving no footprint in the sand.
That is Wisdom!
